Mónica Bello
Mónica Bello is a Spanish curator and art historian. For the past twelve years she has focused on multidisciplinary perspectives and the narrative of current techno-scientific culture. Her research and curatorial projects focus on how artists drive new conversations around emerging phenomena in our society and culture, such as the role of science and new knowledge in the perception of reality. She was artistic director of VIDA (2010-2015) at the Fundación Telefónica (Madrid), a pioneering award that fostered transcultural expressions around the idea of life. She launched and directed (2007-2010) the Education Department of LABoral Centro de Arte (Gijón). She has curated international exhibitions and events with contemporary artists, creators and thinkers from different disciplines. He currently directs Arts at CERN at the European Centre for Nuclear Research in Geneva, where he is responsible for research-oriented artistic residencies and new art commissions, which reflect on conversations and interaction between artists and particle physicists.
